Mick Brown is a freelance journalist and radio broadcaster who lives in London, England. He was educated at Reigate Grammar School, one of England’s oldest and most distinguished grammar schools, before leaving to pursue a career at age 16. He worked various “character-building” jobs before securing a breakthrough into journalism a few years later. Since then, Brown has worked as a staff writer and columnist for the Sunday Times and as a senior editor on the Sunday Correspondent. He also has written for the Guardian, The Observer, the Independent and sundry English and international publications, including Rolling Stone. For the past nine years, he has been a contributing writer for Telegraph magazine, writing on a broad range of subjects. Brown’s radio work includes, “The Second Coming,” a documentary for the BBC about the Maitreya legend, and “Cult Classics,” a five-part series on cult books, which was short-listed for a Sony Award. He has written three books, the most recent of which is The Spiritual Tourist. In it, Brown tells the story of an engaging voyage of inner illumination, a journey to the outer reaches of our age’s search for meaning and purpose. The book’s companion CD, Music for The Spiritual Tourist, compiled by Brown, includes rare and powerful tracks from artists whose spiritual yearnings are an acknowledged force in their creative process. The release has reached No. 39 on New Age Voice’s top 100 “Airwaves” radio chart. Brown is married with three children and lives in London. |
